My Testimony

I grew up in a Christian home learning that Jesus loved me and that He died for me, but it never really sank into my heart.  I would go to church and try to do the right thing, but I was doing it in my own strength which eventually failed me.  Before I knew it I was getting involved with people who were a bad influence on my life.  I broke a commitment I had once made to never drink or party, I found myself talking and acting like everyone around me.  Before I could realize it, I was living in a world of darkness.  I was tortured because I knew from my childhood that the way I was living was wrong but I just didn’t have the strength to stop.  In February of 2012, I went to a youth event called “Acquire the Fire” and I will never forget that weekend.  On a Saturday night, Ron Luce was speaking about giving our lives fully to God and as he was speaking, the Holy Spirit was working on my heart.  That night, I dedicated my life fully to God and told Him that I wanted His will to be done in my life.  Immediately I could see changes in my life as God began to move.  I began my transformed life by going on my first mission trip to Africa.  God poured His love out on me while I was there and He showed me the true love he has for me and His people.  I came home on fire to change the world and to make in impact in my generation.  God has opened up a door for me to do just that.  Through the Honor Academy I will be impacting literally hundreds to thousands of teenagers and young adults.  I will be a part of a ministry that is building an army for the Lord.  Not only will I be impacting others, but I will be impacted as well.  Through classes, accountability, and different events that I will be participating in, I will be developing a deep relationship with God as well as pursuing the call that He has placed on my life.
